Case Study: Wave Curtains and Tracks

When it comes to making a house a home, you need to make your mark. From essentials to embellishments, adding a touch of personal style makes all the difference.
Customer Stewart Gilmour recently asked us to install a modern curtain heading to fit in with his new development. This included some stylish wave curtains, along with electric and hand drawn tracks.
A Passion for Interiors
Stewart is experienced in property development, so he was clear when outlining his requirements for the project.
“I wanted to be an architect when I was growing up, so I decided that I would undertake property development while working in the city.
“I renovated two flats in London and remodelled a five-bed house in Beaconsfield before embarking on my biggest project to date: project managing and helping build a new six-bed, contemporary house in Beaconsfield.”
The Vision
The home was designed with a chalet chic style in mind. As a fan of modern, minimalistic interiors, wave curtains were the perfect choice for Stewart’s project.
An interior designer recommended wave curtains to Stewart because he wanted to achieve a contemporary look. Impressed by images of homes in a similar style to his own, Stewart asked us to install bespoke curtain tracks and wave curtains. Wave curtains have a unique, flowing effect which suit any home décor scheme.
Stewart opted for the system with 60mm wave spacing in Sunset fabric, Freshtex Dimout and Colorama 2 fabrics. The sophisticated fabric colours Stewart chose complement the colour schemes of the rooms perfectly. Freshtex Dimout curtains were the obvious choice for the bedrooms, as they minimise light.
The Project
The wave curtains were installed in the living room and two of the bedrooms. The striking curtains were installed with Silent Gliss 5600 electric tracks and 3840 hand drawn tracks. Electric tracks were used in the main bedroom and living area, and are operated by mains switches and the existing 4Core home automation system.
The 5600 tracks have a nifty ‘Touch and Go’ operation so that the curtains can be opened without a remote. These tracks were the perfect choice for Stewart’s project, as they are heavy duty and could be bent to suit the requirements.
The Final Result
From start to finish, the project took just six weeks to complete. Stewart found The Curtain Pole and Track Company service superb and has recommended us to others.
“Kris was amazing! He talked us through all the options and measured up. The curtains were ordered and installed in a ridiculously short period given it was the run up to Christmas.
“I have and will continue to recommend The Curtain Pole and Track Company to anyone who asks. Kris went above and beyond what we were expecting!”
